Most supply chain data exists in silos that regulators, buyers, and certification bodies cannot independently verify. The Cardano Foundation anchors tamper-evident provenance, certification events, and Digital Product Passport (DPP) data on Cardano, sitting alongside the enterprise systems already in place.
Global supply chains span dozens of borders, systems, and intermediaries. What gets recorded along the way was never designed to be shared or independently verified, and that gap sits at the heart of what modern supply chains now need: a verifiable kind of truth.
As sustainability mandates, trade regulations, and buyer expectations converge, enterprises are under growing pressure to prove what happened across their supply chain, not just report it. Yet most supply chain data remains siloed across suppliers, logistics providers, and certification bodies, each operating their own systems with no shared standard for external verification.
The result is a growing disconnect between what companies know internally and what regulators, buyers, and auditors can independently confirm. Cardano functions as an integrity layer that anchors provenance and compliance data across those systems without displacing them.
Regulators and buyers are asking for proof that internal records alone cannot provide, and the pressure to deliver it is rising fast. The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) mandates Digital Product Passports (DPPs) for an expanding list of product categories; the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) requires verified embedded emissions data; and the EU Green Claims Directive makes unsubstantiated environmental claims legally actionable. Supply chain traceability that produces tamper-evident, auditable evidence is fast becoming a baseline requirement.

Cardano is already being used to verify the provenance of 100,000+ bottles of Georgian wine, substantiate recycled-content claims across 100,000 tonnes of scrap, and support supply chain risk management solutions for more than 3,000 farmers, meeting the integrity demands that modern supply chains require.
