The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) mandates Digital Product Passports (DPPs) for an expanding list of product categories; the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) requires verified embedded emissions data; and the EU Green Claims Directive makes unsubstantiated environmental claims legally actionable. Supply chain traceability that produces tamper-evident, auditable evidence is fast becoming a baseline requirement.

Cardano is already being used to verify the provenance of 100,000+ bottles of Georgian wine, substantiate recycled-content claims across 100,000 tonnes of scrap, and support supply chain risk management solutions for more than 3,000 farmers, meeting the integrity demands that modern supply chains require.
There is no future for recovery and recycling without data on-chain. And there is no trustworthy on-chain data unless it is verified against international standards before it is recorded.
