Working in collaboration with strategic partners, IOHK and EMURGO, he will advise the Foundation Council on operational strategy to streamline the organization’s function while driving international growth.

Nathan Kaiser, Chairperson of the Cardano Foundation, says:

“With Hinrich’s appointment, we are further strengthening our leadership function as the Cardano Foundation’s expansion plans continue to gain momentum. I am confident that under Hinrich’s leadership – combined with his extensive experience in implementing global transformational strategies – the Foundation will continue to grow its presence in the sector and in new geographies. This appointment, once again, cements our team growth strategy to better serve our community and drive the Foundation’s values.”

A native of Hamburg, Germany, Hinrich has worked in the financial industry for more than 13 years. Hinrich led multinational teams at the Global Wealth Management unit focusing on strategy, business transformation and talent. During his time at UBS in Germany, he worked across M&A and Business Management & Development before relocating to Switzerland six years ago.

A blockchain enthusiast, he has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Germany) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Science and Management from Nordakademie School of Economy (Germany), as well as further educational courses from the Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (United States) and the University of Washington (United States).

The latest appointment brings the number of Directors to two and is the eighth addition to the growing global team. In the last six months, the Foundation strengthened its Community Management, Communications, Legal and Asian Operations functions with hires in the Netherlands, South Korea, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
