Cardano Foundation's participation in Project Catalyst Fund 13 will build on key learnings from Fund 12

Project Catalyst, Cardano’s hub for community innovation, exists to propel on-chain governance by allowing the community to self-determine priorities for growth. For Fund 12 (F12), the Cardano Foundation took part on a small experimental scale, gaining valuable insights into how to improve engagement with Project Catalyst and the community. This experience provided critical learnings that will now shape more comprehensive involvement in Fund 13 (F13) and beyond.

As we look ahead to 2025, the Foundation aims to make valuable contributions to Project Catalyst and its community. This means leveraging our expertise to support the ecosystem more effectively in upcoming rounds.

What's new for F13?

Building on the lessons learned in F12, the Foundation’s participation in F13 will follow a more structured and proactive approach. For instance, F13 significantly focuses on enterprise adoption, with 40% of the funding allocated to the Cardano Partners category—an area where the Foundation leverages extensive experience and regular engagement with key stakeholders.

The approach for F13 can be categorized as follows:

  • Focused Proposal Evaluation: We will prioritize proposals with clear, measurable on and off-chain metrics as well as those that align with the Foundation’s mission to scale the diversity and quantity of transactions on Cardano.
  • Increased Expert Involvement: More subject matter experts from within the Foundation will participate in proposal evaluations, therefore providing voters with deeper insights and guidance based on our enterprise experience.
  • Enhanced Community Engagement: We remain committed to ongoing, transparent communication with the community. As such, we will regularly participate in After Town Hall sessions and use additional channels to keep everyone informed of our activities.

Looking ahead: Vision 2025

As we look toward Vision 2025, the Cardano Foundation endeavors to create a predictable, valuable, and ongoing role in Project Catalyst. By leveraging our expertise and deepening community engagement, we aim to support impactful proposals that align with the broader Cardano mission of sustainable enterprise adoption and ecosystem growth.
